The Brainstormis a one-act children's musical that runs approximately 40 minutes. The cast features a minimum of 9 performers, which can be stretched to 14 or perhaps more.

Set requirements are minimal (the original production was a touring show, with an accordian backdrop for the only set piece). Costumes, however, should be elaborate enough to alter appearance of some double- or triple-cast characters. (For instance, Sparkie should not be easily recognized as the Father, but the intentional double-casts of Father/King, Mother/Queen, and Bully/Kreepula should allow the same-actor status to be recognizable.)
